From Tauranga:
Travel down Matata straights heading to Matata / Whakatane on SH2
When you get to Matata.
Take the first road on the right, after the underpass.
Travel down Matata Road, and turn right into Caverhill Road.
You will see the Awakaponga track straight ahead.

From Whakatane:
Heading out of Whakatane after the Whakatane Bridge keep driving straight on SH30
First settlement will be Awakeri, keep driving straight.
Next town is Edgecumbe. Go over Edgecumbe bridge (Fontera is on your right) and continue going straight for approx 5mins.
Turn left into Caverhill Road. Track is straight ahead.
